The Seattle University track and field team will travel to Corvallis, Oregon, for the OSU High Performance Meet hosted by Oregon State University from May 1-2, according to an April 28 announcement. This marks the team’s second trip to Corvallis this season.

The meet is a long-standing tradition for Seattle U, with the Redhawks participating every year since 2013. Last year, the team recorded twelve new top-10 times at this event, including Alex Jensen breaking his own men’s 800-meter record.

This year’s competition follows a strong performance by Seattle U at both the Larry Byerly Invitational and Bryan Clay Invitational held from April 16-18. At Bryan Clay, Seku Sanders set a new school record in the men’s 800 meters with a time of 1:48.75. Annabelle Clapp also achieved the third-fastest women’s 800-meter time in school history with her run of 2:11.52.

Other notable performances included Porter Buck’s tenth-best men’s steeplechase time in school history at 9:49.52 and Lydia Dale improving her seventh-best women’s steeplechase mark with an 11:28.37 finish. In total, seventeen personal records were set across both meets that weekend.

Events for the OSU High Performance Meet are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 1, and will continue through Saturday evening.
