Seattle University softball lost both games of a doubleheader against Montana on March 23, falling 7-5 and then 6-5 at Grizzly Softball Stadium. The Redhawks held leads and ties during both contests but were unable to secure wins.

The games were closely contested, with Seattle University showing strong offensive performances in each matchup. In the first game, graduate Jay Ross led the team with three hits and two runs scored, both season highs for her. She also contributed five putouts defensively. Ava Sin hit an RBI triple, while Mikee Morris and Abbie Fales each recorded doubles. Four players—Fales, Sin, Ross, and Avari Morris—scored runs for the Redhawks.

Avari Morris pitched all six innings in game one, facing 30 batters and striking out five while holding Montana scoreless through two frames. Despite tying the game twice—including a sixth-inning rally—the Redhawks ultimately fell short as Montana scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth to claim victory.

In game two, five Seattle players collected multiple hits; Mikee Morris and Taylor Fitch had three apiece. Morris hit her first home run of the series while Sin added two doubles. Berkley Vance started on the mound for Seattle University and pitched five innings before Kaia Galaviz finished out the contest.

The Redhawks built an early lead but saw it erased after a four-run fifth inning by Montana. Although they regained an advantage with a home run from Morris in the top of the fifth, another late surge by Montana secured their second win of the day as they edged out Seattle University 6-5.

Looking ahead, Seattle University will try to rebound in their series finale against Montana scheduled for noon Pacific Time at Grizzly Softball Field.
