Seattle University softball will finish its nine-game, eight-day road trip with a three-game series against Creighton from March 26-28 in Omaha, according to a March 25 announcement. The games will be available for streaming on ESPN+.
The Redhawks, holding a record of 14-16, have seen strong performances from several players this season. Junior Avari Morris leads the team and the West Coast Conference with a .437 batting average over 103 at bats. She is joined by her sister Mikee Morris (.424) and senior Taylor Fitch (.413) as players batting over .400 so far this year.
Avari Morris has tallied 45 hits this season, ranking tied for 35th nationally and third in the conference. Fitch also stands out with 38 hits and ranks third in the league for home runs (10), which is tied for 53rd nationally. Fitch’s total of 39 runs batted in places her second in the conference and tied for 27th nationwide.
Senior Ava Sin holds a .375 average through 27 games and matches Morris with ten doubles, placing both fourth in the conference. Graduate Jay Ross has contributed with a .320 average across nearly one hundred at bats.
On defense, junior Berkley Vance leads Redhawks pitchers with sixty-seven innings pitched over sixteen appearances and forty strikeouts. Avari Morris also contributes from the circle, leading Seattle U with fifty-five strikeouts through just over fifty-six innings while limiting opponents to a .258 batting average.
Junior Karen Spadafora tops defensive statistics with one hundred thirty putouts; Ross follows closely behind past one hundred putouts as well. Both are ranked among the top ten in putouts within their conference.
Seattle U leads its conference offensively in several categories including overall batting average (.320), doubles (53), RBIs (173), and runs scored (184). The team sits second for total hits (269) and home runs (29).
This weekend marks only the second meeting between Seattle U and Creighton after first facing off last year when Seattle swept all three games to take an early lead in their all-time series.
After wrapping up play against Creighton, Seattle will make its official debut as part of West Coast Conference league play by traveling to face Pacific before hosting Saint Mary’s next month.
