Seattle University softball will travel to Corvallis for a three-game series against Oregon State beginning Friday, April 24 at Kelly Field. The Redhawks, with an overall record of 18-24 and a conference record of 4-5 in the West Coast Conference, are seeking to return to the win column. All games in the series will be streamed on ESPN+.

The matchup is significant as both teams look to improve their standings in conference play. Seattle University currently holds second place in several offensive categories within the WCC, including hits, runs scored, home runs, and team batting average.

Junior Avari Morris leads both her team and the conference with a .429 batting average and has tallied 63 hits this season. She is tied for 70th nationally and is one of four players in the WCC hitting above .400. Morris also leads the conference with 39 runs scored.

Senior Taylor Fitch tops her team with 47 RBIs—second most in the WCC—and has hit twelve home runs this year. Senior Ava Sin follows closely behind with 38 RBIs (fifth in conference) and shares first place for doubles (17) among all WCC players. Fitch’s .371 batting average ranks second on her team while Sin sits tenth in league averages at .349.

Freshman pitcher Kaia Galaviz guides Seattle from the circle with a team-leading six wins and a 3.44 earned run average over nineteen appearances. Junior Berkley Vance leads Redhawk pitchers with ninety-three innings pitched and fifty-one strikeouts across twenty-two games.

Defensively, junior Karen Spadafora has recorded one hundred seventy-five putouts while graduate Jay Ross follows closely behind at first base with one hundred sixty-six putouts. Fitch also contributes defensively from third base leading her squad with seventy-one assists.

Oregon State enters this series after five consecutive losses but recently won two out of three home games against Pacific within WCC action. The Beavers hold an overall record of seventeen wins and thirty losses (5-7 WCC), going five-for-six at home this season so far.

Seattle U and Oregon State began their head-to-head matchups in 2009; last season they split contests during SU’s final year competing in the Western Athletic Conference before joining the West Coast Conference full-time.

Following their trip to Corvallis, Seattle University will return home for its final regular-season series hosting Santa Clara May 1–3 at Logan Field.
