Seattle University women’s rowing team recorded notable improvements in race times during its competition against the University of Portland and Santa Clara on Vancouver Lake, according to an April 11 announcement.

The results reflect progress for the Redhawks, who have been working to enhance their performance this season. Improved times are seen as a positive indicator for the team’s development and preparation for upcoming races.

The varsity eight boat from Seattle University finished with a time of 7:23.3 against the Pilots, marking an improvement of almost thirty seconds compared to its previous outing. The second varsity eight boat secured third place by finishing three seconds ahead of Portland’s second crew with a time of 7:36.8. Santa Clara claimed second place in that race, seven seconds ahead of Seattle U and nine seconds behind Portland.

In addition, the varsity four achieved third place while reducing its race time by nearly twenty-two seconds from its last appearance at the Oregon State Invite, completing the course in 9:29 flat.

Looking ahead, Seattle University’s women’s rowing team is scheduled to compete again at the end of April in a duel against Santa Clara in Northern California.
