Seattle University women’s rowing to compete in Windermere Cup and Twilight Sprints

Seattle University women’s rowing will take part in the final race of its regular season during the Twilight Sprints and Windermere Cup, which are scheduled for Friday, May 1 and Saturday, May 2 on Lake Washington.

The events mark an important conclusion to the Redhawks’ regular season as they prepare to compete against other local programs. The competition provides an opportunity for athletes to measure their progress before postseason racing.

On Friday evening, Seattle University’s varsity eight will participate in the Twilight Sprints at 8 p.m., racing against teams from Washington and Seattle Pacific. During Opening Day on Saturday, the varsity eight will be joined by the second varsity eight and varsity four boats.

Racing on Saturday begins at 10:52 a.m. with Seattle U’s varsity four boat. The varsity eight is set to follow at 11:01 a.m., while the second varsity eight concludes Seattle U’s participation at 11:10 a.m. Throughout the weekend, Redhawks crews will face off against competitors from Washington, Seattle Pacific, and Gonzaga.

The event brings together regional rowing programs for a series of races that highlight local talent and provide valuable experience heading into future competitions.
