Seattle University women’s rowing will travel to Oregon for the Oregon State Invite on March 27, where they will compete against several new conference opponents at Dexter Reservoir.

The event brings together teams from Gonzaga, Portland, Santa Clara, and host Oregon State. This marks the second time this season that Seattle U will race against Portland.

Earlier in the season, Seattle U made its debut at the Puget Sound Invite on American Lake, racing against Puget Sound and Portland. The team reported improvement in its varsity four boat compared to last year when facing a similar group of competitors.

The upcoming meet is expected to feature the largest West Coast Conference field for Seattle U ahead of the WCC Championships scheduled for early May in California. At that championship event, Seattle U will compete with all nine of its conference rivals. According to preseason rankings, host Oregon State was selected as the favorite for a second consecutive year while Gonzaga received one first place vote and was ranked second.

After Saturday’s competition at Dexter Reservoir, Seattle University women’s rowing is set to return in April for the Portland Invite at Vancouver Lake.
