The Seattle University women’s tennis team completed its second-to-last road trip of the season on April 12, playing matches against Washington State in Pullman and Gonzaga in Spokane.

The Redhawks were unable to score a point in either match, losing 4-0 to both Washington State and Gonzaga. The matches were part of the West Coast Conference schedule for the team.

Several Seattle U players had competitive showings despite the defeats. Senior Lola Tavcar stood out by winning her first game against her opponent at Washington State and leading 7-6 in singles play against Gonzaga before both matches were stopped due to opponents clinching victory early. Other singles and doubles matches also went unfinished as a result of these early conclusions.

In doubles action against Washington State, Murphy and Kanemaki defeated L. Avdic and Michta (6-1), while Nakagawa and Puvill beat Teramura and Tavcar (6-3). Against Gonzaga, Nielsen and Robertson overcame L. Avdic and Michta (7-5), with Hayes and Zerpelloni besting A. Avdic and Nazarenko (6-4).

Looking ahead, the Redhawks will play their final match of the season on April 18 when they travel to Portland, Oregon, for a contest scheduled at 3:00 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time.
