The Seattle University women’s tennis team recognized its graduating seniors during the final home match of the season against Pacific on April 4. Seniors Natalia Michta, Larissa Teramura, and Lola Tavcar were honored in a ceremony before all three contributed to doubles victories, with Teramura and Tavcar also winning their singles matches.

This senior day event marked an important moment for the team as it celebrated the achievements of its veteran players. The contributions of these athletes have shaped the team’s performance over recent seasons.

Michta, who will graduate with a degree in Psychology, has earned several awards during her two years at Seattle University. She was named to the All-Western Athletic Conference Doubles Second Team as a junior and received conference Doubles Player of the Week honors twice—once last year in the Western Athletic Conference and once this year in the West Coast Conference. In her doubles match against Pacific alongside Lamija Avdic, Michta won 6-2 but fell short in singles after three sets.

Teramura will receive her degree in Mechanical Engineering this spring. She has been recognized each year for academic achievement and was named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Scholar Athlete as a junior. Paired with Tavcar for doubles, she secured a 6-4 win before earning another victory in singles by defeating her opponent 6-2, 6-2.

Tavcar is notable for spending her entire collegiate career at Seattle University. She has collected three Doubles Player of the Week accolades and was named both College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honoree as a sophomore and ITA All-Scholar athlete as a junior. Tavcar also won both her doubles and singles matches on senior day.

Despite these individual successes, Seattle ultimately lost to Pacific by a score of 4-3. Earlier that week against St. Mary’s, Michta and Avdic went undefeated together but could not secure an overall team win.

Looking ahead, Seattle University’s women’s tennis team will travel east for matches against Washington State on April 11 in Pullman and Gonzaga on April 12 in Spokane.
