Sounders FC announced on Apr. 3 the return of its “First Match On Us” initiative for the 2026 Major League Soccer season, presented by Columbia Bank. The program invites individuals who have never attended a Sounders FC match to experience a home game at no cost, expanding to include 13 matches this year.

The initiative aims to make soccer more accessible as Seattle prepares to host matches during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. By removing barriers and offering complimentary tickets, Sounders FC seeks to welcome new fans and foster a sense of community around the sport.

According to club officials, participants can register online if they have never attended a Sounders home match before. Eligible fans receive access via text message and can reserve up to two complimentary tickets for available games. Seats are assigned closer to matchday, with tickets delivered through digital platforms such as the Sounders FC App or Ticketmaster services.

“We’re proud to bring ‘First Match On Us’ back for a second season after the strong response we saw in 2025,” said Hugh Weber, President of Business Operations at Sounders FC. “This initiative speaks directly to our responsibility as a club to grow the game and connect with our community in meaningful ways. We want to remove barriers and give people a clear opportunity to experience what makes Sounders FC special. We’re excited to build on last year’s momentum and continue welcoming new fans into our soccer community alongside Columbia Bank.”

Ashley Fosberg, Chief Impact and Fan Engagement Officer, said: “This program is centered on creating memorable first experiences and helping people feel part of something bigger. We saw in 2025 how a single match can spark a connection, whether it’s the atmosphere at Lumen Field or the shared energy with other supporters. With 2026 set to be a historic year for Seattle as the global soccer community arrives for the FIFA World Cup, we have a unique opportunity to introduce even more people to Sounders FC and inspire them to come back again.”

New attendees will receive commemorative scarves along with their tickets and will have access within Lumen Field stadium facilities designed specifically for first-time guests—including photo opportunities and informational resources about supporter culture.

Single-match tickets remain available alongside various membership options such as Season Memberships, Partial Packs, Flex Memberships, theme matches promotions, group ticket packages—and full ticketing information is provided at SoundersFC.com/Tickets.
