Cost of college went up for all students at South Seattle College

Tuition and fees rose 4.5 percent for 2018-19 at South Seattle College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Washington students paid $4,717 to attend the four-year public institution this year – $202 more than the $4,515 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 66 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 85 students received grants or scholarships totaling $481,857 and 5 students took out student loans totaling more than $23,712.

Including all undergraduates (6,177), 1,272 students used grants or scholarships totaling $5.7 million, and 73 students took out $432,623 in federal student loans.
