Seattle home prices rose in 2021

The median sale price of a home sold in 2021 in Seattle rose by $75,000 while total sales increased by 36.2%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through December of 2021, there were 5,757 homes sold, with a median sale price of $890,000 - a 9.2% increase over the $815,000 median sale price for the previous year. There were 4,226 homes sold in Seattle in 2020.

The median sales tax in Seattle for the most recent year with available data, 2016, was $4,956, approximately 0.6% of the median home sale price for 2021.
