Friday SPD officers arrested a man in possession of narcotics and a stolen gun in the Chinatown International District neighborhood.
Around 2:00 p.m., police observed a man dealing narcotics near the intersection of 12th Avenue South and South Jackson Street.
Afterwards, the male suspect was seen leaving the area in a vehicle. When officers stopped the vehicle, the suspect exited and ran from police. A foot pursuit ensued which ended in the apprehension of the suspect near South Judkins Street and Sturgis Avenue South.
During his attempt to escape from police, the suspect discarded his outer layer of clothing and buried a firearm. A SPD K9 discovered the firearm during an evidence track.
Police recovered $310.00 in cash, about 200 fentanyl M30 pills, and a stolen handgun.
The 39-year-old male suspect was arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm, theft of a firearm, possession of narcotics with intent to distribute, and violation of a court order. He was booked into King County Jail.
