Police investigating a shooting that injured three people in the Ballard area early Friday.

Shortly after 12:00 a.m., North Precinct officers responded to the 900 block of NW Leary Way for a report of several people shot.

When police arrived, they found two victims with multiple gunshot wounds and began emergency care until Seattle Fire crews were on scene to take over. The third victim walked away from the scene and declined medical assistance.

Medics transported the two injured people — a 20-year-old female with life-threatening injuries and a 58-year-old male victim with non-life-threatening injuries — to Harborview Medical Center.

Detectives from the Gun Violence Reduction Unit will lead the investigation.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to call the SPD Violent Crimes Tip Line at (206) 233-5000.
