Free 2023 Summer Beach Shuttle at Discovery Park

Seattle Parks and Recreation is #ParkProud to offer a FREE summer beach shuttle at Discovery Park to help improve access, reduce traffic congestion, and support a thriving environment. On select weekends, the shuttle will loop between Discovery Park Visitor Center, the North Parking Lot, and the Beach.

“Ensuring our parks are safe, welcoming and accessible for the entire is community is an integral part of what ranks Seattle Parks and Recreation as the top 8 park systems in the United States,” AP Diaz, Seattle Parks Superintendent.

2023 Discovery Park Summer Beach Shuttle Dates:

The shuttle will arrive at each location approximately every 30 minutes. The shuttle runs 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with the last shuttle leaving the beach at 4:45 p.m. Please plan accordingly.

  • Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from July 14 through September 3
  • Monday, September 4 (Labor Day)
Please call the Discovery Park Visitor Center to confirm shuttle service before your visit at 206- 386-4236.

What is allowed on the shuttle? People, including children and babies, service animals, and strollers are allowed.

What is not allowed on the shuttle? Pets, coolers, surf/paddle boards, and other bulky items.

The summer shuttle is powered by your generous donations. Consider supporting the shuttle today. You can make a donation at the Discovery Park Visitor Center or here through our partnership with the Associated Recreation Council.

Parking: When the shuttle bus is running, parking at the beach is allowed only for vehicles with disabled parking permits. Temporary beach parking permits are required to park at the beach, which are issued for three hours at a time on a first-come, first-serve basis from the Discovery Park Visitor Center.
