She further mentioned her optimism about Starbucks engaging in negotiations that could lead to a fair contract for its employees.
Later that day, Jayapal commented on former President Donald Trump's actions earlier in the week. She remarked, "Trump tried to steal TRILLIONS in funding from the American people, we were rightfully outraged and we called it out, and he backed down." She emphasized the importance of organization and activism in achieving political victories.
In another post on January 30, 2025, Jayapal highlighted a new tax policy announced by Trump. According to her tweet, "NEW: Trump announces 25% TAX on American families for all products imported from Canada and Mexico starting Saturday."
