Representative Pramila Jayapal took to social media on April 1, 2025, to express her positions and initiatives on a range of issues. Jayapal, who serves as the congresswoman for Washington's 7th district, covering Seattle, has been in office since 2017 following a tenure in the Washington State Senate. Her social media posts address legislative moves concerning U.S. foreign policy, rhetorical disputes with the current administration, and concerns over workforce dismissals under former President Trump.

In a tweet posted on April 1, 2025, Jayapal announced a legislative initiative alongside Representative Rashida Tlaib to prevent the Trump administration from selling new offensive weapons to Israel. She noted that this effort is also championed in the Senate by Senator Bernie Sanders. Jayapal stated, "NEW: @RepRashida and I are introducing bills in the House to block Trump from selling new offensive weapons to Israel, an effort @SenSanders is leading in the Senate."

Later, on the same day, Jayapal criticized Vice President Vance, alleging dishonesty. The brief post suggested deception but did not specify details about the subject at hand. Jayapal shared her sentiment by stating, "Vice President Vance is lying to your face."

Further addressing the policies of former President Trump, Jayapal condemned the dismissal of numerous workers, who she claims have made significant contributions to public health and safety. In the late afternoon of April 1st, she tweeted, "Trump is firing thousands of workers who have dedicated their lives and careers to keeping Americans safe and healthy. It's reckless, dangerous, and pointless. People will die."
