Two Seattle Mariners prospects were named to the Pipeline Prospect Team of the Week for April 2-12, according to an announcement on April 13.
The recognition highlights strong performances by Minor League players who are ranked among their club’s Top 30 prospects. The team is selected based on player statistics from Opening Day through early April, with eligibility limited to those not currently in Major League Baseball.
Kade Anderson, a left-handed pitcher for the Arkansas Travelers and ranked as the Mariners’ No. 2 prospect and No. 18 overall by MLB, was honored after striking out 17 batters over nine hitless innings in his first two professional starts. “Anderson did not pitch competitively after the Mariners drafted him third overall last year — and he’s made it worth the wait,” Ben Weinrib said in the release.
Charlie Beilenson, another Mariners prospect and reliever for Arkansas, also earned a spot on this week’s team. Beilenson pitched scoreless innings both during international play with Team Israel at the World Baseball Classic and in regular season games this month. “The 2024 fifth-rounder used his three-pitch mix well to strike out eight while giving up just one hit and one walk across 4 2/3 scoreless innings,” Weinrib said.
The Pipeline Prospect Team of the Week showcases standout Minor League performances nationwide across all four levels of full-season play. Players from several organizations were recognized this week, including representatives from teams such as the Giants, Rays, Brewers, Cubs, Diamondbacks, Dodgers and Pirates.
This recognition provides additional visibility for rising talent within farm systems as they work toward future opportunities at higher levels.
