Seattle University’s men’s golf team finished its regular season at the El Macero Classic in El Macero, California, ending the three-day tournament on Apr. 12 with a sixth-place team result among 19 teams.

The Redhawks’ performance marked a strong comeback after starting in 17th place following the first round. The team concluded with a score of +26 over par.

Walker Lamb was the top individual performer for Seattle University, finishing in 16th place with a score of +4 over par (220), which included seven birdies and an eagle. This tournament marked the fifth time this season that Lamb has been the highest-placing Redhawk in competition.

Kevin Li and Ben Ragland also contributed to the team’s success, both tying for 30th place with scores of +7 over par (223). Ragland recorded ten birdies throughout his rounds, while Li made nine. This event represented Ragland’s best finish this season. Will Koch placed 61st (+13 over, 229), and Conrad Chisman finished in 76th (+15 over, 231).

Head coach Marc Chandonnet said, “We got off to an unfortunate start this week, but our guys once again battled until the end and improved every single day. The golf course, combined with some incredibly difficult weather conditions, really made this week difficult. We are happy with our finish and are trending in a positive direction with post season ahead.”

Seattle University will next compete at the West Coast Conference Championships from May 1-3 at Green Valley Country Club in Fairfield, California.
