Washington announced on Apr. 23 the addition of veteran guard Ryan Beasley, who is transferring from San Francisco to join the Huskies men’s basketball team.
The move brings experience and scoring ability to Washington’s roster as they prepare for competition in the Big Ten Conference. Beasley, a Second Team All-West Coast Conference selection in the 2025-26 season, played three seasons with the Dons and will now continue his collegiate career at Montlake.
“Ryan has elite speed and an elite ability to put the ball in the basket,” said Danny Sprinkle, head coach of Washington Huskies Men’s Basketball. “He’s been one of the most dynamic guards in the WCC the past couple of years. We’re very fortunate to get someone who can create and score, get the ball in the paint and find teammates. He was one of the top point guards on our board. His ability to score the basketball is something we need in the Big Ten.”
During his most recent season at San Francisco, Beasley averaged a team-high 13.6 points and 4 assists per game as a full-time starter, ranking sixth in his conference for assist-to-turnover ratio at 2.43. He shot over 40 percent from the field and nearly 83 percent from free throws throughout his college career.
Beasley’s performances included double-digit scoring in two-thirds of games played last season and several standout efforts against notable opponents such as Minnesota and Loyola Marymount University (LMU). His high school career was also marked by significant achievements including being named MaxPreps Second Team California All-State after averaging over 24 points per game.
