The University of Washington women’s beach volleyball team will participate in the Longhorn Showdown in Austin, Texas, on April 3 and 4. The Huskies, currently ranked No. 19, will face several teams during the tournament.

This event is significant as it offers Washington an opportunity to compete against strong opponents and build on their recent successes. All matches involving Texas will be broadcast on the Longhorn Network, although live statistics will not be available.

Washington’s schedule begins Friday with a match against Houston Christian at 1:00 p.m. Pacific Time, followed by a game against No. 3 Texas at 4:00 p.m. On Saturday, they play Tulane at 6:00 a.m., with another match later that day whose opponent and time are yet to be determined. Placement matches are scheduled for later Saturday morning and afternoon.

The Huskies enter the tournament after achieving a perfect record at the SMC Spring Fling in Moraga before taking a break for Spring Break. Their performance included two decisive sweeps over Pacific and close victories over Saint Mary’s College. Key players contributed wins throughout these matches.

Looking ahead, Washington is set to travel to Boise for the Boise State Beach Bash from April 10-11 where they will face South Florida, Grand Canyon University (ranked No.13), Florida International University, and host Boise State (ranked No.20).
