The Washington Huskies baseball team defeated No. 9 Oregon State by a score of 18-2 in Corvallis on March 31, marking their first win at Goss Stadium since 2018 and the most runs they have scored in a game this season.
This victory brings Washington’s record to 13-15 for the season. The game saw the Huskies take an early lead with four runs in the first inning, highlighted by Daniel Porras’s two-run home run—his sixth of the year. Porras finished with three hits, two runs batted in, and a walk.
Colton Bower also contributed three hits, including a double and a triple. Freshman Liam Lierman made his first career start on the mound, pitching a career-high five and one-third innings while allowing only one run and striking out three batters.
The Huskies continued to add to their lead throughout the game, scoring five runs in the third inning and six more in the eighth—their highest-scoring inning this season. Nearly every starter recorded at least one hit or RBI during the game.
Other notable performances included Jackson Hotchkiss, Braeden Terry, Mic Paul, and Alex Pearson each collecting two hits. Landon Young hit his second career home run as a pinch hitter in the eighth inning. Carson Boesel pitched nearly three innings of relief before Jaxson Gore closed out the ninth.
Washington will next play Valparaiso on Thursday to begin a three-game series.
