The Washington softball team lost to Indiana 9-2 in the Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals at Maryland Softball Complex on May 7. The defeat ended Washington’s tournament run after their first-ever win in the event a day earlier.

The game saw Washington struggle offensively, managing their first run only in the fifth inning. Indiana built an early lead, scoring three runs in the third inning before Alexis DeBoer hit a two-RBI single for Washington, narrowing the gap to one run.

Indiana responded by adding three more runs in the fifth and capped their victory with a three-run home run in the sixth inning. With this win, Indiana advanced to play in Friday’s semifinal round of the Big Ten Tournament.

Following this loss, Washington will now await its postseason fate during the NCAA Selection Show scheduled for Sunday, May 10 at 4 p.m. Pacific Time.
