Washington announced on Apr. 25 the addition of LeJuan Watts to the Huskies men’s basketball team through the transfer portal. Watts, who previously played for Washington State and Texas Tech, brings experience and versatility to the roster.

Watts started in 28 out of 33 games for Texas Tech during the 2025-26 season, averaging six rebounds per game and shooting over 83 percent from the free throw line. He was recognized as an Honorable Mention All-West Coast Conference player at Washington State in the previous season.

Head coach Danny Sprinkle said, “LeJuan is one of the hardest matchups offensively in the country. At 6-6 and 230 pounds, he can play the one, two, three or four and is dynamic with the ball in his hands. He’s one of the best in the country at getting a defensive rebound and pushing the ball like a point guard, finding shooters, getting the ball to the rim, throwing lobs. That’s kind of his superpower, his ability to exploit mismatches with his size and strength to create on the offensive end not just for himself but for others.”

Watts established himself as a starter during his time at Texas Tech by delivering several standout performances against high-profile opponents such as Illinois, Duke, BYU, Kansas, Akron and Alabama. In these games he recorded multiple double-doubles and scored over twenty points on several occasions.

Before joining Texas Tech and Washington State, Watts was named Big Sky Freshman of the Year at Eastern Washington after leading his team with a .612 shooting percentage. He also had significant achievements at Bullard High School in Fresno where he averaged eighteen points and eleven rebounds per game as a senior.

Watts is also known for being part of an athletic family; his brother DeSean Watts plays football for Washington as a junior defensive lineman.
