The University of Washington announced on May 8 that two football games in the 2026 season have been rescheduled to Fridays. The Big Ten Conference and FOX Sports confirmed that the Huskies will play Iowa at home on Oct. 9 and travel to Purdue for a game on Oct. 16.

These changes mean that both the Iowa and Purdue matchups, originally scheduled for Saturdays, will now be held on consecutive Fridays. The home game against Iowa at Husky Stadium is set for Friday, Oct. 9, with kickoff planned for either FOX or FS1 at 6:00 p.m. Pacific Time, depending on the baseball playoffs schedule. The following week’s road game at Purdue will air on FOX with a start time of 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time.

According to the announcement, there are no additional changes regarding days of play for other games in Washington’s 2026 football schedule.

The full schedule includes opening against Washington State on Sept. 5, followed by Utah State (Sept. 12), Eastern Washington (Sept. 19), Minnesota (Sept. 26), an away game at USC (Oct. 3), then the newly scheduled Friday contests against Iowa and Purdue (Oct. 9 and Oct.16). After an off week, Washington faces Nebraska away (Oct.31), Penn State at home (Nov.7), Michigan State away (Nov.14), Indiana at home (Nov.21), and closes out with Oregon away (Nov.28).

The times for the first three weeks of the season are expected to be announced in upcoming weeks.
