The Washington Huskies track and field teams will compete at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships from May 15 to 17 in Lincoln, Nebraska, according to a May 14 announcement. This event marks the start of a three-meet championship stretch that concludes the team’s 2026 season.

The Big Ten Outdoor Championships are significant as they determine which athletes advance to the NCAA West Preliminary meet later in May and potentially to the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon, scheduled for June. The competition serves as a crucial test for both individual athletes and team standings.

A total of 26 women and 23 men from Washington will participate at Nebraska Outdoor Track. The first two days of events will be streamed live on Big Ten Plus and Runnerspace, with day three also available online and through a live broadcast on Big Ten Network beginning at 10:30 a.m. Pacific time.

Last year, during their conference debut, the Huskies placed sixth in both men’s and women’s outdoor championships. Notable performances included Evan Jenkins winning the men’s 10,000 meters, Amanda Moll taking first place in women’s pole vault, and Sophie O’Sullivan securing victory in the women’s 1,500 meters.

Several Washington athletes enter this year’s championships ranked among the top ten in various events within the conference. Top-ranked competitors include Alex Rhodes (400m), Jimmy Rhoads (pole vault), Hana Moll (pole vault), and Sofia Cosculluela (heptathlon). However, Cosculluela is expected to compete only in open events this year.

The full list of Husky entries spans sprints, distances, jumps/vaults, throws for both men’s and women’s teams. The results from this weekend’s meet will help shape who advances further into postseason competition.
