The No. 17 Washington Huskies softball team, with a record of 22-6 overall and 6-0 in Big Ten play, will conclude their eight-game homestand with a matchup against North Dakota on March 18 before traveling to Michigan for their first Big Ten road series this weekend.
This week’s games are significant as the Huskies look to maintain their undefeated conference record and continue their strong start in the Big Ten. The upcoming contests also provide an opportunity for Washington to build on its recent momentum after sweeping Maryland at home.
The midweek game against North Dakota will be streamed on Big Ten Plus, while the first two games at Michigan will also be available on the same platform. The series finale against Michigan is scheduled to air on the Big Ten Network. Washington has shown strong performances recently, outscoring Maryland 21-4 in their last series and extending their winning streak to twelve games. Jadyn Glab led the team during that stretch, batting .625 with five RBI and a game-winning home run.
Key players have contributed throughout the season: Alexis DeBoer ranks among conference leaders in runs, hits, and home runs; Giselle Alvarez is tied for twelfth in runs batted in; and Morgan Reimer has recorded her thirteenth win of the year with a shutout performance. The Huskies’ offense has been dominant, scoring 202 runs over 28 games and recording nine shutouts—leading the Big Ten in that category.
Washington’s early-season schedule included challenging matchups against ranked opponents such as Texas and Nebraska. Despite some losses, they have built a strong record through preseason tournaments and now hold top-25 rankings across multiple national polls. This season marks Washington’s second year as members of the Big Ten Conference after joining alongside UCLA, USC, and Oregon in August 2024.
Looking ahead, Washington aims to continue its success both at home and on the road as it faces North Dakota (19-9) and Michigan (19-9). Historically, Washington holds a perfect record against North Dakota and leads its all-time series with Michigan.
