The University of Washington’s track and field teams will send a large group of athletes to the Stanford Invitational on April 3-4, with additional competitors heading to the Texas Relays in Austin on April 4.
The Stanford Invitational marks the start of the outdoor season for many Husky athletes. The meet, held at Cobb Track & Angell Field, features a packed schedule with events beginning Friday morning and concluding late Saturday afternoon. A nearly full squad from Washington is set to participate, except for several pole vaulters who will compete separately in Texas.
At the Texas Relays, Husky pole vaulters James Rhoads, Sara Borton, and Veronica Vacca are scheduled to compete in their respective invite sections on Saturday at Mike A. Myers Stadium.
Several All-America distance runners from Washington’s indoor championships are expected to make their outdoor debuts this week at Stanford. These include Mia Cochran, Julia David-Smith, Chloe Foerster, Jenica Swartz, Chloe Symon, Chloe Thomas, Tyler Bilyard, Thom Diamond, Jamar Distel, Evan Jenkins, Josiah Tostenson, and Reuben Reina. Additionally, javelin throwers Carson Olmstead, Saydi Orange, Ashley Schroeder, and Leonie Troeger will see their first competition of 2026 during this meet.
Both women’s and men’s teams have a wide range of entries across sprints (such as Mikayla Gardley in the 200m/400m), distance events (including Ella Borsheim in the women’s 5000m Section 4), jumps (like Addy Kelly in triple jump collegiate), throws (Yvonne Colson in discus invite), multis (Sofia Cosculluela participating in multiple events), as well as hurdles and relays. On the men’s side there are entries like Jonathan Frazier (110m/400m hurdles) and Martin Barco (800m/1500m).
No live stream will be available for these meets; however live results can be accessed online through event organizers.
