The University of Washington Men’s Tennis Team announced on Apr. 2 that it will host No. 20 Michigan State and No. 45 Michigan this weekend for a pair of Big Ten matches at the Quillian Tennis Stadium, depending on weather conditions.

These matches are significant as they mark key conference contests for the Huskies, who aim to build on their recent road performances against Nebraska and Wisconsin. The team currently holds an overall record of 8-11.

The Huskies will face Michigan State on Friday, April 3 at 5 p.m., followed by a match against Michigan on Sunday, April 5 at noon Pacific Time. Live stats and streaming will be available through the Washington Men’s Tennis pages via Statbroadcast and Track Tennis Streaming, with links provided through the team’s social media channels.

Weather forecasts suggest favorable conditions for outdoor play, with temperatures expected around 57°F with moderate winds for Friday’s match and mid-60s with light winds for Sunday’s contest.

In terms of historical context, this is only the fifth meeting between Washington and Michigan State, with both teams having won two matches each in previous encounters. Last season in East Lansing, Washington lost to the Spartans by a score of 5-2. Against Michigan, Sunday’s matchup will be their twelfth meeting; the Wolverines lead the series nine wins to two after defeating Washington last season in Ann Arbor.

Notable recent performances include Brett Pearson and Soham Purohit going undefeated in doubles over their past two matches. Freshman Hyeonseok Seo also secured his second career game-clinching singles victory during last weekend’s upset win over Nebraska.

Looking ahead, Washington will travel next weekend for its final Big Ten road trip of the season with scheduled matches against Pennsylvania State University and Ohio State University.
