Washington head men’s basketball coach Danny Sprinkle announced on Apr. 21 the signing of transfer guard Parker Friedrichsen, marking the Huskies’ first addition from the spring transfer portal.

Friedrichsen brings three years of Division I experience, having started 33 out of 34 games at Davidson in the past season after spending two seasons at Wake Forest. His arrival is expected to strengthen Washington’s backcourt with both his shooting skills and veteran presence.

“We’re extremely excited to add a guard with a veteran presence like Parker,” Sprinkle said. “He adds several years of experience at the highest level at both Wake Forest and Davidson and has been led by coaches with a winning pedigree both in college and high school. He has the kind of shooting ability that is necessary to compete in the Big Ten and his feel for the game will be tremendously valuable. Parker is a great player but also a high-level character and student, which made him somebody we targeted early on this window.”

During his time at Davidson, Friedrichsen averaged 10.8 points per game along with 2.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists in the 2025-26 season. He shot an impressive 40.5 percent from three-point range, ranking twelfth in the Atlantic-10 conference with sixty-eight made threes for the year.

Friedrichsen had notable performances including scoring twenty-seven points against Loyola Chicago where he hit six out of eight three-pointers, as well as recording twenty-one points against Dayton by making five out of six attempts from beyond the arc.

Before transferring to Davidson, Friedrichsen played sixty-six games over two seasons at Wake Forest where he averaged over five points per game off the bench as a freshman while maintaining strong shooting percentages.

As a high school athlete in Oklahoma, Friedrichsen was recognized as one of state’s top prospects and won a national three-point contest during his senior year.
