The No. 16 Washington softball team secured its 30th win of the season after defeating Iowa 10-6 in a ten-inning game on Mar. 29 at Hawkeye Softball Complex.

The victory marks Washington’s fourth consecutive Big Ten series sweep and extends their winning streak to 20 games. The Huskies remain undefeated in conference play with a record of 12-0, making them the only team without a loss in the Big Ten so far this season.

Sunday’s matchup was closely contested, ending regulation tied at six runs each before Washington scored four times in the top of the tenth inning. Ava Carroll hit a home run to break the tie, giving her team a one-run lead. The Huskies then loaded the bases and walked in another run before Jadyn Glab singled up the middle to bring two more runners home, finishing her day with three hits and five runs batted in.

Morgan Reimer earned her nineteenth win of the year by retiring three Iowa batters in order during the bottom half of the tenth inning, sealing both the game and series sweep for Washington.

With this result, Washington concluded its seven-game road trip undefeated with sweeps over Michigan and Iowa as well as a victory against Loyola Chicago. The Huskies are set to play four games next week in Palo Alto, California—two against Saint Mary’s College and two versus Stanford University—before returning home for a three-game series against Minnesota beginning April 10.
