The No. 22 Washington softball team lost 1-9 to No. 7 UCLA on April 26 at Husky Softball Stadium, as the Bruins completed a sweep in run rule fashion.

The game marked the final home appearance of the season for Washington and included a ceremony honoring senior Sophia Ramuno, who threw out the ceremonial first pitch to her father before the start of play.

UCLA took an early lead, scoring four runs by the fourth inning. Washington’s only run came when Ava Carroll hit an RBI double that brought in Jadyn Glab. In the fifth inning, UCLA added five more runs with an RBI double, an RBI single, and a three-run home run that ended the game under run rule conditions.

Washington will conclude its Big Ten regular season schedule with a road series against Ohio State from May 1 through May 3.
