The University of Washington Huskies baseball team will travel to Corvallis to play against No. 9 Oregon State on Tuesday, March 31. The game is set for a 5:35 p.m. start and will be broadcast on CWTV and Pac-12 Insider.

This matchup is significant as Washington seeks its first win in Corvallis since an 8-4 victory on March 25, 2018. The Huskies have shown improvement this season, including recent series wins at home and notable individual performances.

Jackson Hotchkiss leads the team with eight home runs this season and has posted a .410 batting average, the highest among his teammates. He also leads in slugging percentage (.902), on-base percentage (.471), and multi-hit games (eight). Hotchkiss currently ranks ninth in the Big Ten for total home runs.

The pitching staff has also been strong, ranking among the best nationally with a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 2.41 (53rd in NCAA) and allowing just under four walks per nine innings (56th nationally). Noah Kenney recently threw seven innings with nine strikeouts against Northwestern and has been named to the College Baseball Foundation’s Pitcher of the Year watch list.

Colton Bower has contributed both offensively and defensively, leading the team with 24 RBIs while also being recognized as Big Ten Player of the Week earlier this month. Blake Wilson recorded Washington’s eleventh triple of the season against Northwestern, making them leaders in triples within their conference.

Head Coach Eddie Smith is now in his second season after joining from Utah Valley University in July 2024. The team welcomed several new staff members ahead of this year’s campaign as part of ongoing changes within Husky baseball.

Looking ahead, Washington aims to continue its strong performance as it faces a ranked opponent away from home.
