The University of Washington Huskies will resume Big Ten Conference play against Northwestern in a three-game baseball series at Husky Ballpark, with games scheduled for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, according to a March 26 announcement. All games will be broadcast on Big Ten Plus and live stats will be available online.

This matchup is significant as it marks the first time Northwestern visits Washington as a conference opponent. The Huskies took two out of three games when the teams last met in Evanston during the previous season.

Washington enters the series following an 11-2 victory over Pepperdine, highlighted by Tommy Brandenburg’s five scoreless innings and Jackson Hotchkiss’s continued offensive surge. Hotchkiss now leads the team in several categories including batting average (.449), home runs (7), and slugging percentage (1.000). Daniel Porras was recently named Big Ten Freshman of the Week after his strong performance at the plate, becoming Washington’s first recipient since Hotchkiss earned the honor last April.

The Huskies’ pitching staff has shown strength throughout March with an earned run average of 4.22 over their last fourteen games and a strikeout-to-walk ratio that ranks seventh in the conference. Noah Kenney has been named to the College Baseball Foundation’s Pitcher of the Year watch list after recording thirty-three strikeouts across thirty innings pitched this season.

Offensively, Colton Bower has contributed six consecutive multi-hit games while leading Washington with twenty RBIs. Newcomers like Landon Young and Alexander Pearson have also made notable impacts early in their collegiate careers.

This season is Eddie Smith’s second as head coach for Washington after joining from Utah Valley University in July 2024. The program features twenty-three newcomers among its roster this year, reflecting significant changes ahead of its ongoing campaign.
