The Washington Huskies will face the TCU Horned Frogs in the NCAA Tournament Round of 32 at Schollmaier Arena on the campus of TCU on March 22. The game is scheduled for Sunday at 7:00 p.m. PT and will be televised on ESPN, with Chuckie Kempf providing play-by-play and Brooke Weisbrod as analyst. Jason Dorow and Elise Woodward will call the action for Washington fans on 950 KJR-AM.

This matchup marks the first time Washington and TCU have met in program history. The winner will advance to the Sweet Sixteen to play either Iowa or Virginia at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California, with tip-off time yet to be determined.

Washington enters the contest with a record of 22-10 overall and a 10-8 mark in Big Ten play. This is their twentieth appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Their last trip beyond the First Four was in 2017, when they reached the Sweet Sixteen against Mississippi State.

In their previous game, Washington defeated South Dakota State 72-54. Avery Howell led with 30 points, nine rebounds, and a career-high seven three-pointers made—tying her for third most threes by a player in a single March Madness game. Brynn McGaughy added double figures for the fifth time in six games with 14 points and four rebounds, while Sayvia Sellers matched her career-high with ten assists, just three shy of surpassing Kelsey Plum’s season record from 2016-17. The Huskies recorded an assist on twenty-one out of twenty-seven field goals—a new season high—and forced eighteen turnovers from South Dakota State.

TCU comes into Sunday’s meeting after recording its thirtieth win this season following a victory over UC San Diego. The Horned Frogs are making their second consecutive appearance in March Madness via an at-large bid after falling to West Virginia in the Big Twelve Championship. Last year, TCU advanced to the Elite Eight after wins over FDU, Louisville, and Notre Dame.

The outcome of this first-ever meeting between Washington and TCU will determine which team advances further into tournament play.
