The Washington women’s rowing team is set for a busy weekend as seven crews will each race three times over two days at the B1G Invitational, scheduled for April 18 and 19 at Lake Natoma.

The event brings together 19 programs, including 11 from the Big Ten Conference and eight others. Teams will compete in four eights and three fours, mirroring the race categories of the Big Ten Championships. Lake Natoma, located near Sacramento in Gold River, California, has previously hosted multiple NCAA Championships and was home to the Pac-12 Championships.

According to the schedule released by Washington Athletics, races begin Saturday morning with events featuring various lineups such as second varsity fours (2V4+), varsity fours (V4+), second varsity eights (2V8+), and continue throughout both days. The regatta will be streamed live on Big Ten Plus (B1G+) with a subscription required.

Eight teams participating are ranked in the most recent CRCA Coaches’ Poll from April 7: Stanford holds first place; Washington is ranked fifth; California is tenth; Rutgers eleventh; Michigan nineteenth; UCLA twentieth; Indiana twenty-fourth; and Oregon State twenty-fifth.

After this weekend’s competition, Washington’s women’s team will prepare for their next major event: the Opening Day and Windermere Cup Regatta on May 2 at Montlake Cut. There they are scheduled to face national teams from Great Britain and Canada.
