The University of Washington women’s rowing team won 12 out of 14 races on April 18 during the first day of the B1G Invitational at Lake Natoma in Gold River, California. The No. 5-ranked Huskies competed twice in each of seven race categories against a field that included both conference and non-conference teams.

The regatta is significant as it marks the first time the B1G Invitational has been held on the West Coast and features all eleven Big Ten Conference member programs, along with eight additional teams, including former Pac-12 rivals such as California, Stanford, and Oregon State.

In Saturday’s morning session, Washington swept all seven events—first through fourth varsity eights and first through third varsity fours—winning each by comfortable margins. Notably, their third varsity four set a new event record for best time in its category. In the afternoon session, Washington secured five more victories but saw its top varsity eight suffer its first loss of the season to California.

Sunday will see all seven Husky crews race again. The regatta continues to be highly competitive with strong performances from teams like California and Stanford. The event is being broadcast live on Big Ten Plus.

The roster for each boat was also released following Saturday’s competition, listing athletes from across the United States and several other countries who contributed to Washington’s performance.
