The Washington women’s rowing team advanced all seven of its crews to the grand finals at the San Diego Crew Classic, according to a March 28 announcement. The races took place Saturday morning on Mission Bay, with each of the Huskies’ entries earning a chance to compete for trophies in Sunday’s events.

This development is significant as it demonstrates the depth and competitiveness of Washington’s program, which entered four eight-oared crews and three fours into the annual regatta. Both varsity eights had to win their heats outright in order to move forward, while other boats competed in preliminary races where advancement was guaranteed.

In the opening race, Washington’s varsity eight led from start to finish against rival California, winning by just over one second with a time of 6:35.693. The Huskies also secured second place in the varsity four preliminary behind Texas and won their heat in the second varsity eight event with a wire-to-wire performance.

Other notable results included both Washington entries finishing among the top three in the College B four-plus preliminary and strong showings from their third and fourth varsity eights. All teams will race for trophies across five categories on Sunday, beginning with the Jessop-Whittier Cup final at 9:23 a.m. Pacific Time.

The full roster lists athletes representing several states and countries across all boat classes. Updates are available through official team social media channels and apps.
