The Washington women’s rowing team will travel to the San Diego Crew Classic this Saturday and Sunday, March 28-29. The team, currently ranked No. 5 in the latest Pocock CRCA poll, plans to enter seven crews in various events held on Mission Bay.

This event is significant as it brings together top collegiate teams for early season competition. Alongside Washington, two other teams ranked in the top ten—No. 3 Texas and No. 10 California—will also participate.

Washington will compete in several categories: first and second varsity eights, open eights with two entries, varsity fours, and two entries in B fours. The schedule includes heats and finals for each category across both days of racing. Fans can watch live coverage through a paid subscription on the San Diego Crew Classic’s website.

Last year at this regatta, Washington reached the podium in all six collegiate races it entered. The Huskies won the Karen Plumleigh Cortney Cup (varsity four plus) and claimed both first and second place in the Collegiate B four plus race. They also finished second place in all four of their eights races.

After this weekend’s event, Washington will have a week off before facing California again at The Dual on April 4 at Redwood Shores.
