The No. 21 Washington women’s tennis team will travel to the Midwest for two matches this weekend, facing Nebraska on Friday and No. 41 Iowa on Sunday, according to a March 19 announcement from the program.

These matchups are significant as Washington remains the only undefeated team in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Top 25, holding a perfect 12-0 overall record and a 3-0 mark in conference play. The team’s performance so far has set them apart nationally, with strong results across both singles and doubles courts.

Through their first twelve matches, Washington has compiled a combined record of 69-11 in singles and doubles play. The Huskies have not lost any matches on Courts 1 and 2 in singles or Court 2 in doubles. In addition, they have secured all twelve doubles points this season, with their duos posting a combined record of 25-3.

In the latest ITA Team Rankings released on March 17, Washington is ranked No. 21. Three players—Reece Carter (No. 64), Erika Matsuda (No. 70), and Marie Weissheim (No. 103)—are featured in the ITA singles rankings. In doubles, Erika Matsuda and Carina Syrtveit are ranked No. 46 after re-entering the Top 80.

Matsuda recently earned Big Ten Player of the Week honors for the second time this season after clinching key doubles points with Syrtveit against Rutgers and Maryland, as well as securing a decisive singles win over Maryland’s top player.

Looking ahead, Washington will return home for matches against Northwestern on March 27 and Illinois on March 29.
