Washington women’s tennis was eliminated from the Big Ten Tournament after losing to fourth-seeded UCLA on Friday afternoon, April 24. The match took place in Columbus, Ohio.

The Huskies started strong by securing the doubles point. Erika Matsuda and Karolina Kozakova won their match on Court 2 with a score of 6-3, while Reece Carter and Jermine Sherif claimed victory on Court 3 with a score of 6-4.

Despite winning the doubles point, Washington was unable to hold off UCLA in singles play. The Bruins secured wins on Courts 1, 3, 5, and 6 to clinch the overall match.

As a result of this loss, Washington’s run in the tournament comes to an end. The team will now wait for the NCAA Selection Show scheduled for Monday, April 27 at 1:30 p.m. Pacific Time on NCAA.com to learn if they will receive a postseason berth.
