The No. 21 Washington women’s tennis team defeated Minnesota, 4-0, at Bill Quillian Tennis Stadium on April 10.

This win brings Washington’s overall record to 16-3 and their Big Ten record to 7-3. The Huskies remain undefeated at home this season with an 11-0 record.

Washington secured the doubles point with victories from Erika Matsuda and Karolina Kozakova (6-0), as well as Reece Carter and Jermine Sherif (6-2). In singles play, Sherif won her match in straight sets, 6-0, 6-2. Kozakova added another point for the Huskies with a two-set victory of her own. Alexia Jacobs clinched the match for Washington after coming back from a deficit in the second set to win six consecutive games and secure a final score of 7-6(2), 6-4.

Other matches included unfinished contests by Matsuda, Carter, and Marie Weissheim due to Washington reaching four points first under college tennis rules.

The Huskies are scheduled to play again on Sunday against No. 31 Wisconsin at noon. The event will also serve as senior day for Carter and Matsuda.
