A mobile bill-pay company, doxo, has made the 2021 list of best place to work in Seattle for the second year in a row.
The list is determined by the jobs website, Built in Seattle, which uses an algorithm to measure company compensation and benefits.
Even with the COVID-19 pandemic, 2020 was a good year for doxo, co-founder and CEO Steve Shivers told Seattle City Wire.
“doxo had a very strong 2020 and is growing even more quickly as this year starts,” Shivers said. “Given how many businesses were impacted by the pandemic, we are fortunate to have seen a net benefit as people shift more bill payments online, and shift more online activity to mobile devices.”
Even in good economic times, many people struggle to pay their bills, he said.
“The pandemic made that only more challenging,” he said. “So doxo’s core value is very timely — our app simplifies the task of staying on top of bills and helps improve financial health. We make it easy to organize your list of bills and due dates, track your real-time bank balance, and ensure your credit score and online identity are protected.”
The company is honored to be named a top place to work in Seattle, the CEO said.

Making the list for the second consecutive year will help the company recruit new employees, he added.
“I’m sure it will help the candidates we recruit understand that doxo is a special group of people, and a great place to work,” he said.
The company has 60 full-time employees, an increase of 20% in 2020,and has “aggressive” plans to hire more people in 2021.
