Rep. Pramila Jayapal, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Washington’s 7th district since 2017, has voiced concerns over several policies through her recent tweets. Jayapal, who previously served in the Washington State Senate and holds degrees from Georgetown University and Northwestern University, addressed issues related to Social Security benefits, economic policies, and Medicaid.

On March 19, 2025, Rep. Jayapal expressed concern regarding changes affecting phone support for elderly and disabled individuals needing assistance with their Social Security benefits. She criticized the move by former President Trump and Elon Musk as not being a cost-saving measure but rather "a step to make it harder for you to get your hard-earned money." "Trump and Elon are removing phone support for elderly and disabled people who need help with their Social Security benefits."

Later that day, she attributed economic challenges to Trump's policies in another tweet posted on March 19, 2025. She stated succinctly: "Higher inflation and lower growth, brought to you by Trump’s economic policies."

Also on March 19, during the House Democrats' Medicaid Day of Action, Rep. Jayapal visited Sea Mar Community Health Center in Washington state. Emphasizing the importance of Medicaid for many residents relying on its services, she declared her commitment to opposing any reductions to this program: "Cuts to Medicaid will hurt health centers and the patients they serve. I’ll be fighting to stop any and all cuts to this program."
