First half of 2022: Home prices in Seattle increased

The median sale price of a home sold in the first half of 2022 in Seattle rose by $113,975 while total sales decreased by 7.5 percent, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through June, there were 2,426 homes sold, with a median sale price of $998,975 - a 12.9 percent increase over the $885,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 2,623 homes sold in Seattle in the first half of 2021.

The median sales tax in Seattle for the most recent year with available data, 2016, was $4,956, approximately 0.5 percent of the median home sale price for the first half of 2022.
