Rep. Pramila Jayapal, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Washington's 7th district, recently shared her views on various issues through social media posts. These posts cover topics ranging from local developments in Seattle to national economic policies.

On November 26, 2024, Rep. Jayapal expressed her satisfaction with Seattle's progress, stating "It’s great to see Seattle thriving! I am proud to have secured funding for the Seattle Aquarium’s new Ocean Pavilion and other projects that have reshaped our city — and I’ll keep working to bring federal funding home."

The following day, November 27, she addressed the issue of federal minimum wage in a tweet saying "It’s been more than 15 YEARS since we last increased the federal minimum wage. $7.25/hour was not a livable wage in 2009, and it sure isn’t a livable wage now. It’s time to raise the wage to at least $15/hour and deliver for workers across America."

Later on November 27, Rep. Jayapal commented on an economic policy announced by former President Trump regarding tariffs on imports from Canada and Mexico: "Trump just announced a 25% tariff on all goods imported from Canada and Mexico. That means higher prices on gas, sugar, fruits, vegetables, and more — where you’ll foot the bill. As Trump threatens to raise costs, Democrats will keep working to save you money."
