Rep. Pramila Jayapal, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Washington’s 7th district, has recently expressed her views on several pressing issues through a series of tweets. Jayapal, who succeeded Jim McDermott in 2017 and has been an active political figure since her tenure in the Washington State Senate from 2014 to 2016, addressed concerns ranging from presidential pardons to Supreme Court decisions and healthcare policies.

On January 21, 2025, Rep. Jayapal commented on former President Donald Trump's decision to pardon individuals convicted of violent assaults during the January 6th events. She stated: "Last night, Trump pardoned more than 400 people who were convicted of violent assaults on law enforcement on January 6th. That should outrage every single American, no matter your political beliefs."

Later that day, she reflected on the impact of the Citizens United decision by the Supreme Court, marking its fifteenth anniversary. In her tweet, she noted: "15 years ago today, the Supreme Court handed down a disastrous decision in Citizens United, allowing dark money to flood our elections and billionaires to take over our government. A decade and a half later, it’s time to reverse this ruling."

On January 22, Rep. Jayapal criticized actions by former President Trump regarding prescription drug pricing. She remarked: "Alternate headline: 'President Trump takes action to raise the price of vital prescription drugs for millions of American families.' He promised to lower costs, but he’s already making life more expensive."
