Rep. Pramila Jayapal, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Washington's 7th district, recently shared her views on social media regarding actions taken by former President Donald Trump and entrepreneur Elon Musk. Her tweets address concerns about foreign aid, government agency dismantling, and public health initiatives.

On February 7, 2025, Rep. Jayapal questioned the motives behind Trump and Musk's actions towards agencies like USAID. She stated: "Why are Trump and Elon Musk going after agencies like USAID? They’re trying to vilify foreign aid as a distraction from the enormous tax cuts Trump is trying to pass for himself and his rich buddies. Keep your eye on the ball: Trump’s Tax Scam 2.0."

Later that day, she called for an investigation into Musk's activities with federal programs: "BREAKING: We’re demanding an investigation into Elon Musk’s blatant conflicts of interests as he attempts to dismantle vital government agencies. He’s gutting federal programs to enrich himself. That’s plainly corrupt & we’re not going to let it slide."

In another tweet posted on February 7, 2025, Rep. Jayapal highlighted the importance of USAID in Uganda's fight against malaria: "In Uganda, USAID helps fund the National Malaria Control Program, which sprays insecticide into village homes and distributes bed nets to pregnant women and young children. Now, this lifesaving work is at risk."
