Rep. Pramila Jayapal, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Washington's 7th district since 2017, has been vocal on various issues through her social media presence. On February 9 and 10, 2025, she shared her views on consumer protection, public safety in transit, and economic disparities.

On February 9, Rep. Jayapal commented on the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), stating: "The CFPB fights for consumers, puts money in people's pockets and takes on big banks and greedy companies. The fact that Trump and Musk want to shut it down tells you everything you need to know: they lied to you about driving down costs and protecting your wallets from..." This tweet highlights her stance on the importance of consumer protection agencies against influential figures like Donald Trump and Elon Musk.

Later that day, she addressed public transportation safety following a tragic incident involving a bus driver. She wrote: "After the tragic murder of bus driver Shawn Yim, I’m glad that King County Metro is taking steps to ensure drivers feel safe & secure while on the job. We must continue to push for effective bus safety protocols so everyone is kept safe while in transit." Her statement underscores the need for enhanced safety measures for transit workers.

On February 10, Rep. Jayapal drew attention to economic disparities by comparing government spending with individual wealth growth: "How much does USAID spend on shelter, medicine, food and more each year? $38 billion. How much has Elon Musk’s net worth grown since the election? $154 billion." This tweet reflects her concerns about wealth inequality.
