Rep. Pramila Jayapal, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Washington's 7th district since 2017, recently took to social media to express her concerns on various issues. Jayapal replaced Jim McDermott and has been active in addressing significant matters through legislative efforts and public statements.

On February 12, 2025, Jayapal addressed the issue of food waste due to what she describes as an "illegal USAID freeze" implemented by former President Trump and Elon Musk. She stated that "Nearly HALF A BILLION DOLLARS of food is rotting because of Trump and Elon’s illegal USAID freeze." According to her post, this situation results in the wastage of food that could have fed hungry children and saved lives.

Later that day, at 16:40 UTC, Jayapal discussed healthcare legislation. She emphasized her support for bipartisan efforts to pass her proposed bill by stating, "I agree — which is why I’ve repeatedly introduced my Stop Anticompetitive Healthcare Act to prevent giant corporations from putting profits over proper patient care."

In another post on February 12, 2025, at 17:12 UTC, Jayapal highlighted concerns about potential cuts to Medicaid by Republicans. She pointed out the financial implications for parents across the country if such cuts were enacted: "Medicaid covers the cost of HALF of all births in America — but Republicans are working to cut it."
